Inventory the required data

Identify the source of facility, product, inventory, and operational data needed for the decision. Name an owner for each source. Confirm which integration methods are available for your deployment and whether a file-based pilot is sufficient.

Create a mapping and a sample

Document source fields, units, identifiers, timestamps, and destination meanings. Prepare a small representative sample with missing values and duplicate records included. Define validation rules and resolve mismatched identifiers before scaling the import.

Plan for stale or failed updates

Agree update frequency, access permissions, and a contact for failures. Record when data was last accepted. Decide whether stale data should block a scenario or appear with a visible warning, and test that behavior before operational use.
